When my mom died we found two safes in her house. One in the wall and one in the floor. Both locked... so we called one. And found.... nothing.

I always figured safes were either for gun safety or people with jewel collections — didn’t know there were so many regular people with them, but I’m learning

We had no idea what might be in there but we were selling the house (and knew the new owners were going to knock it down for a McMansion) so we just had them both drilled open just in case. I'm not sure we expected there to be anything

Water tight or fire proof probably. A lot of people put important paperwork in safes incase of damage not so much for robbery lol
