Right? They don’t want it. We don’t want it from them in place of thinking. How is any of this a good thing?!!

Without using names or schools I'm reminded of a guy who adjuncted at 6 different colleges teaching 18 classes online. The whole thing was automated and he never did a thing after publishing the class besides respond to emails. He loves this but I also think he shouldn't be teaching.
