So the shadow weave collapsed with the weave, apparently. The spellplague was the justification for the switch to the 4e model of powers, which says to me that some characters did learn how to adapt, regardless of class. But I think others just fell out and couldn't learn to use power in that way

I see. I only read 3.5e and 5e so I didn't know that was the transition. Is shadow weave just normal weaves twisted but not divided, then? If they just collapsed altogether

The shadow weave is weird. to quote a wise man, think of the weave as a series of tubes that carry power. Shar figured out that the empty space between the tubes could also carry power, sneaky power that had its own unique strengths and limitations. What she didn't realize is that the shadow weave

Couldn't exist without the normal weave. No tubes, no space between the tubes. So when the weave came back the shadow weave also emerged.
