100% the issue here is the guy sitting across the table is unpredictable, unreliable, proven dishonest, and has unchecked loyalty in his circle. In a practical sense, a deal with Trump is only as good as the time itβs struck until he opens his mouth again. Thatβs an inescapable fact.
This makes planning, implementation, etc all a potentially costly and wasteful exercise one moment to the next. If- a BIG IF- Congress wrests the powers heβs abusing back to their hands, thereβs a slightly better chance of a workable deal with some life to it.
For all intents and purposes, even South Korea has more predictability in dealing with North Korea in anticipating action/reaction than the world has with Trump right now.
China is bigger, growing much faster, far easier to do business with and has vastly more business integrity. The advice Iβm offering clients is to shift their focus overseas, at least until Trump and the Republicans are out of power. Several have done so already with excellent results.

Taking off the tariffs on goods covered under CUSMA is a good move. Carney is the right person for this moment. I trust him completely.
