I’ve got a lot of people to switch away from Goodreads not by saying “Goodreads is evil” but by saying “hey storygraph works a lot better and you can feel a lot better about yourself while using it”
it gives you stats, lots of cool stats and charts and you can add books yourself instead of praying to whatever ancient god you have barely heard of that someone who knows someone can add it to GR 🤩
(as I’m downloading storygraph, I’ll also catch up on what’s wrong with goodreads)
Amazon is what’s wrong with Goodreads. That’s it. I also struggle with the design of Goodreads personally.
I don’t think it’s bad to use Goodreads. I would if I found the design more user friendly. I barely use storygraph but find it a little easier
I only started using it in March so I’ve really no reason to keep it going (and didn’t know the amazon bit, but that seems obvious now). And was burned by a goodreads choice award.
