Sports stuff has got a lot worse on Bluesky recently imo. Really hard to find tennis stuff, football stuff, etc. Clips are still far from where they need to be. Reporting doesn’t spread as widely. Most people are just talking about Gavin Newsom or some boring depressing shit

If you want to follow Kevin Durant, then no, this is not the place. If you want to follow funny interesting people who talk about sports, they're on here. I couldn't figure out where all my EDSBS people were on Twitter until I opened Bsky and realized they'd all been posting here.

gotcha. the best way at least for me is go through the sports posters you like & see who they follow. like last night my feed was basically entirely posts about cfb. I never use the discover feed cuz it's trash
Do you follow any sports lists? That’s helped me get more sports info and less politics when I want it.
I get a lot of sports stuff in my feed because those are basically the only people I follow… but also had someone tell me everyone to the right of Bernie should be executed yesterday.

You have to follow any football stuff to keep your timeline vaguely footie ish I have no interest in Spurs, Newcastle, Arsenal and Everton, but they appear to have more fans on here and its better than nothing!

There are huge sports communities here, but discovering them is unnecessarily difficult. I built custom feeds to follow different sports and ONLY get posts about that sport - but this should be natively supported. Also agree- a handful of highlight accounts do a lot of heavy lifting here.
Sadly, until official sports teams come here, it won't get any better.

last night was good with cfb. My timeline was full of sports jokes and folks engaging with others and enjoying themselves and it was a Thursday with a slate of turd games. Sounds like user error.

You would not have liked Twitter 2010 Right now I'm overwhelmed with MLS reporting. Liverpool and Arsenal also well covered Follow everything and then trim back on the fire house seems to work But all the journos (and the teams they follow) still too stuck on Xitter

agree about tennis as i don’t know dick all about it and would love to know a bit more. i follow basketball pretty loosely even though i love it, and would definitely benefit from more people following it on my behalf haha.
Have you tried following sports feeds? It really helps me to be able to follow different sports feeds separate from my home feed

there is def a weird gulf between how much tennis presence was here during the French Open versus now. I'm still trying to strike a balance but culture discourse is also in a weird way rn with traditional reviews in decline, etc. I think it'd help if ppl stopped responding to clear bait (Third Way)

Try For You - it does show sports content for you based on you previous likes. It finds people who liked the same posts as you, and shows you what else they've liked recently.
