Yeah, aside from the pensioner thing (a problem which should eventually solve itself since old people don't live forever) I fail to see a downside to downsizing.

It's a huge problem that requires a complete overhaul of the economic model, currently based on growth.
Exactly the current problem isnt the fact that reproduction rates are falling. Its the fact that capitalism doesn't facilitate a concept of as good as last year or shrinkage & they only project bigger/better/growth, more money. The reality is there is limited resources & people, so it has to change
The overhaul is needed. The planet cannot sustain infinite growth.
