It's complicated, tariffs are raising prices on food that comes in from other countries. Food packaging costs more because of Steel and aluminum tariffs. Corn and soybeans are mostly used as animal feed. We produce way more than we can use and we have pissed off our top customers.
So crops that we export are not moving and the oversupply drives down domestic prices to below cost of production. The majority of our Farmers produce these crops and they are losing money on them but they're not stuff that we eat directly. Honestly corn chips should be down but that's about it.
