They specifically uploaded the 'NUMIDENT' file. This record includes your name, social security number, your birth date, your birth place, your parents' names and social security numbers, gender, and immigration status. The security threat is profound.

Yep. That's all the information you need. Madness.

Strikes me as a great way iq47 could punish Musk. I presume the two hackers are still employed there. Interesting that this all comes on the heels of Coristine's attack.

Also seems like the SC could be implicated in this.

But it's OK, because there was a compelling national interest justifying the exfiltration of this data, namely ... (checks notes) ... ingesting it into the training set for Elon Musk's Grok AI, so that the self-styled "Mechahitler" could triage the population according to Musk's mood of the moment.

So, to recap, our data's been uploaded, and now we're just waiting for Elon to decide who's worthy of his digital mercy. Fines and jail time sound like a good starting point for accountability, @hannahagnc.bsky.social.

What would accountability for this look like if we get an administration in office that would be interested in pursuing accountability? Fines? Jail?

I demand that we all be given new social security numbers ASAP and that *reputable* people go in there and lock it down.

One way to break the social security system is simply to make it so porous that there's no longer a protective barrier against perpetrators, so tlhat the system has to be re-built from the ground up by "more competent/efficient/secure" private business interests. This smells scammy.

Don’t we usually get to sue companies for billions who do this? Can we bring a class action suit against the federal govt?

I was taught the evangelicals feared the creation of a one world government cashless society that requires an indelible mark on every individual wanting to buy or sell goods.
