I demand that we all be given new social security numbers ASAP and that *reputable* people go in there and lock it down.
One way to break the social security system is simply to make it so porous that there's no longer a protective barrier against perpetrators, so tlhat the system has to be re-built from the ground up by "more competent/efficient/secure" private business interests. This smells scammy.
