Republicans are “good time Charlies.” Case in point is Trump’s attempt to minimize COVID. They want to sweep any societal challenges under the carpet. The problem is, eventually the smell seeps through.

Good summary. Lines up with a certain way of thinking you see in people: everything else is to blame but me. I've met a number of people like this, but I really didn't want to believe there are that many people with that mindset in this country. Hard to not become demoralized by it.

2016 was a rude awakening. So many narrow minded people with no integrity or sense of American exceptionalism and the responsibility that it carries.
