Been having a back and forth with another parent for ages eho parks in a no parking bit of the lot making it a pain in the ass for everyone else, usually we call each other an asshole and go about our days, fair play He decided to escalate, stood over me getting my kid out the other day...
Out of the car, i stood up told him to fuck off or id slap him, he backed off (im pretty huge) and asi tske my kid in he smashes my drivers wing mirror off, so was already on to the cops about that another week or so later he and his wife get mad that id taken his photo for the cops...
They were screaming at me in the school foyer a bunch of staff intervened, then yesterday i see him in the lot, park in the next lot over to try and avoid shit, as he and his wife ate leaving they honk at me, then drive into the lot im in park up next to me and she starts screaming again, meanwhile
Hes snuck around and opened the door of my car with my kids seat in (hadnt picked him up yet) so i jump out and he cold cocks me then starts waving his fists doing a boxing dance lol I just lent on my horn then called the cops, dude was so desperate for me to fight him
Same day i also grabbed an absolutely massive stack of hardwood firewood free for next winter so overall it wasn't too bad a day
I don't get it. Past the wing mirror thing there is no good ending for this guy, does he think if he keeps escalating he can somehow come out the other side OK?
I think its the only thing a bully used to getting their way understands. I guess the goal is to provoke me into doing something where he can then present himself as the victim
I mean you have more than enough to clean this asshole out in a civil suit
Don't live in the states, but the cops had him arrested, car impounded and were watching the video surveillance before the ambulance was done checking me for concussion 😂

That's so insane man, tbh in situations like this even before I had a kid I feel like my reaction is always closer to "are you really doing this? is this real life?" versus getting aggressive. I appreciate that people think it's me being cool under pressure but it's actually just literal confusion

For the last year we had a sort of cobbled together childcare arrangement and one day i was on the train taking my daughter to her babysitter's house. A school group of older kids with chaperones got on and they'd brought some big wooden cases for their project, like made out of scrap plywood
and one of the chaperones propped it up in the space of the train car where people stand with strollers and bikes etc, which is fine, but he didn't secure it and when the train stopped it fell over and came within a foot of landing on my daughter in her stroller. It was an accident but also come on
I was obviously furious (my kid would have been like 15 months old) but also instead of being confrontational when the guy came up and tried to play it off, I just made a sort of shrug gesture and facial expression to say "are you seriously for fucking real dude?" and got off the train at our stop
I'm not a native speaker but I very much know how to be rude in French and to be like "your science fair ass bullshit weighs 30 pounds and almost landed on my kid" but 1) I find that's never been my instant reaction 2) I just felt dumb for not keeping an eye on the stupid thing (my back was turned)
and honestly I never want to lose my shit or get hostile in front of my kid ever if I can avoid it (fingers crossed) so it's probably best to lock that down before she can really form clear memories of it
