It's very difficult as a lay person to sort out the current and longterm consequences of repeat infections. Studies come out showing vascular inflammation, increased stroke and diabetes risk, neuroinflammation. Flu and shingles are somewhat implicated in dementia.. But no change in data.

These curves don't show what you think they show, and if you sincerely believe them, then you are getting manipulated. They show death rate and not incidence of disease. So, they don't show the incidence decreased before vaccine, they just show the progress of medecine improved the patients outcome.

So, I’m old. My Mom was in nurses training in the polio wards in Duluth Minnesota in the 1950s. The vaccine was such a blessing. Her kids got them all.

The problem with good public health is that it stops is the diseases that we are supposed to be worried about. So we don't see them, we don't worry about them. For those of more...umm...limited.... capacities, it makes them think we're all worried about nothing, and that public health is a scam.

Well written piece, I disagree with its message. Good public health is visible in masks and sick leave. It is visible in access ramps and speed bumps. It is visible in gender affirming and dental care. It is obtrusive. What you are normalising is healthcare as a veneer, which makes issues invisible.
