As a West Virginian their barbecue's not even that good.

As a Kansas Citian (or close enough to claim brother/sisterhood) no one can claim superiority over bbq - especially Texans. π Bbq is fightin' words π
Ok if we're going there... Also from Kansas. Oklahoma thinks they've got something really special going on with their biscuits and gravy. They rave about them there. But I have NEVER had good biscuits and gravy in Oklahoma. They're always bland as hell.
Shots fired!
There's nothing good in Oklahoma NOTHING
People that don't leave their state much always think they have the best things and that everything they do is original. They think they invented that "oop" sound in the midwest when you run into somebody. They spell it weird. But everybody in the country does it. They just don't know.
Kind of like Americans who never leave the country....
While true, it costs more than a house payment just to board a flight. We're not rich here.
In defense of those who haven't traveled abroad, consider the size of the US. There is so much to see & do in this country. We don't need to go to the Alps to ski. We have the Rockies. We've got beaches & forests (the Redwoods!), deserts & badlands. We can drive to it all & use the same currency /1
I know experiencing other cultures is extremely rewarding, but getting there is expensive & takes a full day of travel. Besides, there are many cultural areas right here if you're willing to seek them out. Alternatively, reading about them or watching documentaries can enrich your understanding. π€·πΌββοΈ
I agree to most of this, except it isnβt oop (rhymes with poop), here in Michigan, it is ope (rhymes with hope).
See? You spell it weird. And you say it kinda weird, too. The way the northern Midwest treats vowels in general is kinda weird. The Midwest does things weird and then acts like they invented them. And it's because they mostly stay put.
Hahaha! Ope! You say weird like it is a bad thing. And your view point is biased, so maybe keep your judgements and name calling to yourself. The Midwest is filled with creative, thoughtful, open-minded people.
That all talk about each other behind their backs to make themselves look good to their neighbors. Fuck I hate the Midwest and their snide culture.
Just remember. None of those northern beans in chili in Texas.
Hey now. Don't be busting on southern BBG. I'm in and from NC, we have the best and we are officially a purple state now. We're doing the work. ππΊπ²ππππΊπ²π
It's just a different flavor & as we know, in matters of taste, there is no distinction! To each their own. NC bbq is vinegary, which some people love! Which begs the question: is bbq about the sauce or the meat (smoking method)?
I always wondered how Texas got that title. It the McDs of barbq
