On a more serious note. Mongolia is presently the only free country in the region. Being sandwiched between two biggest totalitarian empires of the world it's not an easy feat. And without political support and rather limited economic interest from the free world they risk being swallowed.

Hopefully not directly/militarily - even though you never know in the current mad world - but economical and political 'nudging' by the big totalitarian neighbours will finally have an impact.

Arguably, Russia appears to be stuck at the level of medieval, Golden Horde style cruelty, while Mongolia seems to have progressed further in history.

arrêtez avec l'histoire, le passé est passé, ce qui compte c'est le présent et les frontières reconnues par l'ONU point barre, le comment on en est arrivé là a son importance pour expliquer certains situations pas pour les modifier!

L'histoire nous apprend que tous se répète: pendent l'invasion des Mongols au 13e siècle l'Europe d'ouest promettait d'aide, mais ne faisait rien. La Hongrie et la Pologne étaient forcés de combattre les hordes d'orient sans assistance. L'Ukraine est dans la même situation aujourd'hui.

au cas particulier l'Europe fait beaucoup son aide depuis 2022 est de 130 milliards d'Euro si vous appelez cela rien!

I admit to exaggerating, yet the pattern is there: Europe (i.e., papal council back then, EU today) delivers grandiose speeches, but perceives the problem as something remote. Meanwhile, the nations at the eastern fringes of Europe pay, with their blood, the price for tranquility further West.

If Western Europe was serious, they could give Ukraine 1% of GDP p.a., like Denmark and Estonia. That would be 200B EUR every year, and it would still not be a lot.

Je me rends compte que la géographie n’est pas ma force. Je pensais l’empire du mongol sur un autre continent.

C'est parce que nous, Hongrois et Polonais, avons arretés les Mongols dans le 13e siècle, que vous n'avez connu ces "visiteurs". La Hongrie a perdu 1/3 de ses habitants pendant cette guerre. L'Europe de l'ouest promettait d'aider mais ne faisait rien. L'histoire se répète.

Ironically, China's claim to Tibet is based on Tibet being ruled by the Yuan Dynasty. You know, the conquering Mongol dynasty of China...
