If you want to try repelling them, I can endorse this stuff, which has a nice smell. It does work best in enclosed spaces however. (You can also get it on Amazon and from some hardware stores)

I’ve tried pretty much every repellent in the book without any help, but I appreciate the suggestion. I need to find the hole.
