In some states, as a trans man who passes for male, I'm legally banned from using a men's restroom but practically banned from using a women's. My choice is between breaking the law and being arrested for breaking it. Few Democrats are talking about how much trans people have lost, and how quickly.
I realize I have been living in a permanent state of crisis and alarm due to a perfect storm of personal stuff and world news since 2017, if you count trump's first year in office -- and I gotta say, it's wearing thin.
I wish people would stop blaming COVID mitigation policies for the acceleration of right wing extremism, and instead acknowledge the fact that we endured a mass casualty and mass disabling event that was mismanaged by narcissistic authoritarians who shifted the blame to marginalized communities
That said, it *was* disturbing how little oversight or support existed. We had to arrange classes & tutors privately & research the grade requirements bc district support basically consisted of printouts (Kiddo reentered school knowing skills ahead of their grade and covid-free so it did work!)
If you have not been, now is a really good time to start tracing your multi-size patterns instead of cutting them out. This is a resource we'll never have again.
This We homeschooled our child during covid until they could be vaccinated It was hard and we leaned heavily on resources like Outschool tutoring I would have preferred to have done it with district support and oversight but that wasn’t an option
