if the difference between someone caring about people going hungry is if someone says “food insecurity” or “people are going hungry” that is not someone I wish to know Because that’s stupid
I think my problem is I treat adults like adults so I expect adults to act like adults and do research if they come across a term they’re unfamiliar with Like we learn to do in elementary school
Also third way isn’t saying “only use these words in specific contexts” which might even be a better argument They’re saying don’t use these words at all I don’t think it’s a coincidence a lot of these words are related to marginalized communities
and let’s be honest, if someone can be swayed away from a cause because someone used a synonym they’re unfamiliar with, what are the odds they vote left anyway
Giving up on persuading voters who aren't like you. That's the ticket to election victory.
if someone can be swayed away from a cause because someone used a synonym they’re unfamiliar with, what are the odds they vote left anyway if you stop caring about homeless people as soon as you hear “unhoused” you’re weird and I don’t want to know you
That person is never gonna vote for a democrat and I also think MOST people aren’t like this Clearly this is where we disagree
Sorry, I refuse to treat adults like little babies who meltdown when they hear a word with more than 3 syllables.
You know what I think is a better idea than turning your back on progressive causes Actually teaching people what these terms mean
