and you should have no skin in the game of trying to sway things or insist in any particular direction, just whatever would help find who did it, they are always tripped up by ego, it's hilarious
Like one of my favorite scenes is when Falk visits the wife of the victim, who is being set up by the murderer, and when she realizes she can't fully account for her whereabouts she sighs that she doesn't have an alibi, and Falk assures her she does, just not a good one.
