"Can I keep the Nomad?" Sega: "No"
"Can I keep the Nomad?" Sega: "No"
"Will you let me down then? I'm bleeding a lot." Sega: "No."
His shirt was originally white...
I’m more concerned Batman Forever is 69.99 😂
64.99 even… 😂 I hate it so much I inflated its price.
$70 to hate every second that you're playing it, what a steal!
A friend of mine rented that hot garbage, so I got quite the review from him, lol.
$70 to regret everything 😂
Some life lessons have an ACTUAL price tag.
They had to. Photoshop hadn't been invented yet.
No wonder he's screaming!
$64.99 was the price of the first Shining Force at the Babbage's in the mall by me in 1993. So when people complain about prices for games made today with cinematic scores, full voice actors, and hundred of hours of game play I think they are out of their mind.
$69.99 was the price I meant to write there.
Another fun core memory from my childhood, an additional 5 1/4" floppy drive for an Apple 2+ was $700.
Fabricating game carts is insanely expensive to produce compared mediums today, so game pricing really isn't comparable. Sources I can find cite that Nintendo charged between $15-$25 per cart, which is like $33-$55. Later games that used more space or special hardware were even more expensive.
It's actually a perfectly fair comparison and you explained exactly why games aren't $155 today.
I get the sentiment here, but the cost of manufacturing per unit dropped so dramatically starting with the PS1 that price comparisons from today to NES/SNES/etc just don't make any sense.
Those prices…..after you account for inflation…….oof…….
Was that before or after they added superglue to his feet to help with that?
$64.99 for Batman Forever. Good lord.
I had a nomad when I was a kid. Whenever I mention it most people have no idea what I'm talking about. Yes it took batteries but they would die in like 4 hours. It was also massive. Especially with the charger pack. I usually just used it plugged into the wall at night in my room.
Holy shit those prices. And we complain now. 😂😂😂
I remember spending $50 for TMNT 3 on NES years after it came out. Like early 90s!
That’s insane. It’s crazy how much technology in general cost in the 90s.
Wth I remember games being like $20-30 back then! Did I enter an alternate universe just now?
The first Phantasy Star, released on the Sega Master system as a 4 megabit cartridge with battery back up was $99 in 1987.
They didn't need to. He was just annoying.
Fun fact really hard to play the Nomad if ya not looking at it
are those in USD
Yep!
in the mid-90s?
Also yep!
When you’re holding a Switch in the 1990s, you’d be excited too
Such a good lineup of games in there
Surprised he could even lift it with all the batteries that thing took. My old game gear CHUGGED through them.
