So you first kill off the domestic build of nuclear and then the existing nuclear builds. That makes no sense. And Germany is even building Gas plants. 🤔

The vast majority of the Germans didn't want new plants in the 70s because of the problems with the storage. The last was finished in the 80s. 40 years on, Germany pays $3.7bn to start in 2033 to dig up the leaking final storage. In reality it will start much later and will cost a lot more. /2

no it's not a spendfuel storage. And Germany was misinformed and suffered for it. And ofcourse the nice natural gas buy in from that democratic country called Russia helped us all. It also did line the pockets of the german politics, like premier Schröder of the SPD, that where so anti-nuclear.

The existing plants from the 70s and the 80s were running 5 years behind their life span. It would be utter insanity to let them run further. Makes perfect sense. Germany is building gas plants because there is now a stupid mini Trump who doesn't want to invest in storage.
