it's kind of crazy how your doctor can prescribe you a med and the insurance company can just turn around and say haha good one

Or just as bad, the government 🙄 Literally threatening doctors who prescribed painkillers. In Canada too, not just the US. Made me go to the hospital for a pee drug test 🙃 Thought I was selling my meds, or getting high from them. Ghu knows. Neither has happened, ever.

Slept well for a couple of hours...almost pain free with the meds and heating pad. I wish it was like that all the time 😪 That's it, about 2 hours of sleep at a time. For months...years really.

Just got off the phone with insurance! They said I can file an appeal, or in 65 days my Dr can try to write it for something else but they’re not sure whether or not it’ll be covered then either. THANKS! 😑

Crazy that because I live in England if I was under 60 I would have to pay £9.90 per prescription, but if I lived in Scotland they would be free. But I am over 60 so it is all free anyway. My dentist once prescribed me a dozen tubes of toothpaste.

I swear it's led to a chicken and egg situation between doctors not wanting to order tests/prescribe things and insurance companies refusing to pay for ... anything

Especially if you can't take generic, but the insurance classified the name brand into a tier where they neither cover it, nor apply deductibles or copays toward it, costing you four grand a year.

Practicing medicine without a license and they get away with it. If insurance companies keep it up, there won’t be any physicians left.

At @costplusdrugs.com your meds might be cheaper out-of-pocket than they would be elsewhere with your ins copay. They only carry generics, no name brands. It's worth checking out. (And no, I don't work for them. I'm just a happy customer. 🙂)

Or Medicare can say, “Gosh, it’s not in our formulary. That’ll be $130.” Happened to me this week, for an effective migraine med that’s been around since at least the 1970s.

It's also crazy when your Dr. prescribes the $1500/month medication and the insurance company goes "no, she has to get the $6500/month medication." On the plus side I hit my $8000 year deductible pretty quickly.

As I found out recently, your doctor has to have seen you in the last twelve months to extend a prescription. The doctor who works for the insurance company, however, can deny your prescription without ever seeing you. Just sayin . . .

Trying to get my mom into hospice. Because she is just old, not w/ a "terminal" disease, we are at the mercy of a random hospice doc saying yay or nay. Because insurance won't cover mere palliative care for being old.
