I think the topic is deeply stigmatized to this day and so I draw visible self harm and attempt scars on him because it's sadly very common and yet society pretends it's not. So I want people to know it's very much there and on purpose and personal.

Lately I fear people tend to romanticize "bad guys" too much. I think what I like about Mikhail (outside of his design alone ofc) is my want to know more, understand more of his twisted mind. I miss finding characters that are not good and are not meant to be good, but also are not being softened

Because sometimes a character is made to be bad and then suddenly it changes due to romanticizing or softening them to make them easier to swallow. Missing a big part of their lore or personality that technically shouldn't make it THAT easy

Regarding Marshall, I believe the art that made me look more into your art and follow you actually was an art focused on sh, I strongly remember a bathtub? The way people pretend it's not there or strongly misinterpreted it, causing more harm. Your work I believe is really needed in this space

Agreed, I just like complicated characters. And I'm also old enough to know that fiction is fiction :' ) Even tho far too many people seem incapable of that these days. He has good sides and bad sides like everyone, but his moral compass is very off kilter.

Honestly, I will choose a character like that so many times, because they are complex, they make me think, consider. Bad characters were bad and complex to teach people something, not romanticize them and justify each one of their wrongs. But we reach a dark moment of fiction rn
