Who you gonna call?
Who you gonna call?
🤣🤣
Our got the majority of the strawberries 😡. Because we don’t grow veggies for them to raid, they’ve moved on to ferrying green spruce cones from the driveway to their cache in their nest in the logpile, so the majority of the cones are picked up for me. Win some, lose some.🤷♀️
looks like raccoon damage to me
Possible. We debated that. We've got no other signs despite loads of fruit on the trees / ground and lots of other goodies. It looks like the chew they've done on sunflower heads, and they tend to dig in the chips - we found a couple of those nearby. So we are leaning towards the the squirrels.
I should add we know there is a squirrel nest up in our ~50' tall spruce.
Chipmunks got our corn, when we grew it. We knew it wasn't raccoons when the ears remained on the upright stalks. And when I caught the little rotters in the act! Had some luck draping with bird-netting, but not a lot.
We have some bird netting that worked well for the blueberries. Also have some chicken wire. we'll see what we can cobble together!
I’m also at war with squirrels and chipmunks! 🐿️ they refuse to let anything grow on my back patio. So, I planted hellebores. Somehow, they’ve managed to diminish 3/4 of my plants. They also ravage, pillage, plunder my bird feeders. They are my garden nemesis!
Squirrels were eating my cherry tomatoes. I read on Google to put coffee grounds in my planters. It seems to have worked.
I did that too and haven’t seen a squirrel around! I spread abt 20 lbs used grounds (courtesy Starbucks) and nary a squirrel now. But I DID see one chipmunk.
they used to devastate our fruit trees in texas - almost never got any fruit. But here they seem to leave a lot for us - except the hazelnuts which they defenestrate with abandon.
We're lucky our apples are so huge there is plenty for both of us 🤣🤣🤣
Time for some grilled squirrel bits.
🤣🤣🤣
