Museums also buy art, to conserve and protect it and enable the public to see it. If they were subject to massive taxes they'd have nothing left and our cultural heritage would be lost to the oligarchs forever.

Lots of art in Museums is already owned by them and plenty of rich people buy art as a tax dodge and then let museums show it (cover the cost of insurance and looking after it) plus as someone else has said if it’s a museum in this country you could exempt them the extra tax
