Iβve tried several things over the years. I have two divisions in separate pots with different media, one finer and more water-retentive, the other chunkier. Theyβre in lower light, similar to my Paphs and Phals. As far as I can tell they prefer the lower light and dryer media.
But still havenβt quite figured this one out yet.
I live in a humid climate. I have found that these donβt mind getting their feet wet. And they seem to like a lot of bright, indirect light, more like Catt light conditions. Are you using a time-release fertilizer? And you know to NEVER cut the stalk, right?
Thank you. Iβll try increasing light. I def do not give them catt levels. Iβve never had a stock and I fertilize all my orchids. These started as one plant. Iβve got some growth over the years but it/they never seemed to thrive.

It looks like your plants are in pots too large for them. When that happens, the orchid will not do well. Also, I would take them out of the ceramic outer pots. (Their roots also want to feel the air flow.) How long has it been since you potted? Is your media decomposing?
Thank you, Iβll try these tips. The potting mix isnβt very old, but Iβve also been thinking about airflow around the roots. The one in the chunkier mix seems to be doing a bit better, so maybe thatβs the key. Hopefully weβre on the right track for future blooms!
I wouldn't say full Catt level light, but close to it⦠Oncidium level light? They also like to be outside and feel the breeze, and move back and forth with the wind.
