We need this. Iβve seen AI ads recently using the voice and likeness of Oprah and another using a voice that sounded just like one of the most popular narrators.
Not fair at all that people put time and energy into applying for a job that doesnβt exit. Hiring is broken and technology has made it worse not better.

I deal with ants too (Argentine ants). The ants themselves donβt harm the plants but they farm/protect mealy bugs which are the main pest I deal with π I use either diatomaceous earth or a barrier chemical where my plant shelves touch the ground to keep ants away.
Possibly but I would think flower color would improve with maturity instead of fade π€·ββοΈ I think itβs just variation between individuals and I happen to have a lighter one.

Another look at my Adromischus marianiae. They are not known for their flowers but for these really cool textured leaves.

This gorgeous orchid is the easily grown Brassocattleya Yellow Bird. This is the third flowering this year. It is a backcross that is ultimately 75% Brassavola nodosa and 25% Cattleya milleri. I love the vibrant yellow with spots, like ripe bananas. πͺ΄π±

Thank you, Iβll try these tips. The potting mix isnβt very old, but Iβve also been thinking about airflow around the roots. The one in the chunkier mix seems to be doing a bit better, so maybe thatβs the key. Hopefully weβre on the right track for future blooms!

They put on about a foot of growth a year, so this is really a tree for future generations. But it feels good knowing I planted the right tree in the right place, something people often get wrong.

Iβve tried several things over the years. I have two divisions in separate pots with different media, one finer and more water-retentive, the other chunkier. Theyβre in lower light, similar to my Paphs and Phals. As far as I can tell they prefer the lower light and dryer media.
Glad my garden could provide it a rest stop on the way. I saw it feeding from my Grevillea and Lantana.

Beautiful flowers! Not a Melocactus (they bloom from a fuzzy cephalium). The long flower tube and short-spined column point to an Echinopsis-group hybrid (Lobivia/Trichocereus), but Iβm not certain. Beautiful cactus either way!
