The state of the loos is always a good indicator of how a place is really run. That's just embarrassing for a place that presents itself as higher end and has a menu that reflects it.

Yes - there's a checklist on the door showing how often the loos are checked, but honestly, if you haven't spotted a non-functioning lock and a dodgy flush in those checks, you're not checking very carefully.
