Yeah, nah. That was no barrier. I socialise all the time with people who think my music sucks. It's the default state actually. They learn to keep me away from the stereo. In fact, my mate booted me off his wifi last time I was around at his place (still snuck in a 30 minute epic first though lol).
Oh man we should have an argument on the ideal length for a song. I say there should be VERY few songs that are over 3 mins 30 seconds and they definitely have to have a reason for it. Get in, kick ass, get out unless you are something like Station to Station which I will allow to be very long
Yeah, we're not on the same page on that one. Not even in the same library. 🤣 I love music that goes on a journey, with my favourite genre being the slow build up to an exuberant finish. So a 30 minute track that goes through multiple moods and soundscapes is absolutely my vibe.
It's not something I'd argue about though. I gave up on that once I abandoned my "Metal or GTFO!" phase. Love what you love, is my mantra. And I ACK I'm an outlier. I suspect it's because it's the instruments rather than vocals that appeal to me more (although a bad vocalist can be a deal breaker)
