Utah, yes on a 3 year deal plus a player option, no question.

Interesting. How much better do you think he makes you guys? Obviously him and marketing, you have 2 REALLY good offensive guys, but in a tough West, how does that stack up?
If Danny Ainge is truly no longer calling the shots I think this is right Keyonte George + two 1sts + expiring contracts (Jusuf Nurkic, Kyle Anderson, Kevin Love, Svi Mykhaliuk) works Or Utah can just clear the cap space and see if they can just sign him next offseason
If Atlanta determines that there is at least one team out there that is going to have at least ~$50M in cap space and is going to offer Young a max contract, and Atlanta truly is unwilling to pay him the max, then Atlanta will definitely trade him before the trade deadline rather than let him walk
The only scenario in which they trade him before February is a train wreck season in which they're below the playoff line and have multiple injuries
I disagree… if ATL uncomfortable with Young’s asking price + they have reason to believe some team next offseason WILL be both willing + able to offer Young in free agency (2026 offseason) (Young would need to decline his 2025-26 player option), they have to trade him if there’s an acceptable offer
Yeah there's a scenario where they're already shopping him quietly behind the scenes, and he's aware and open to it. It's nuts that he has potentially TWO YEARS left on his deal but that player option means the clock is ticking
Y'all, they literally built this entire team around him. If you don't think they're gonna see what they have before pulling the trigger on a trade you're nuts
"there's a scenario" = there's a possibility, and with no extension and this possibly his last year under contract in ATL, if you think that the FO hasn't quietly and respectfully put feelers out for possible trade angles, then it is YOU, sir, who are nuts.
This is year 7 or 8 of Trae, they know what they have in him. If the *right* trade for a superior player was there, they may have already done it. Of course they'll also evaluate what they got before making a mid season trade. Not sure what you're going on about
But if the best offers for Young are bad offers (Jalen Green + Royce O’Neale, or Jordan Poole + Saddiq Bey + Kevon Looney, or Kyle Kuzma + Bobby Portis Jr + Ryan Rollins), then sure, Atlanta is better off just holding on to Young beyond the trade deadline
