These Common Gallinules are year rounders at the local pond and easy to get good images of. I try to get them in the morning when the reflection makes interesting, at least to me, photos. It looks to me like their beaks are attached with the sticky tack you can hang pictures on walls with! #birds

2 mallard sized wading birds on a still pond. The dark alkaline water makes a good reflecting surface and I like the photos I can get. They are mostly brown almost black with white flecks along their bodies and under the tail feathers. Their yellow tipped beaks meet their head with a patch of bright crimson red seeming to hold it on. Background is the small ripples on the pond

Here one in front of the other facing left and right you can see the white on their sides. Same background with the brown water slightly rippled in circles around them

Here they face each other with bird on left facing right, it's beak dipped in the water
