I support Ukraine’s right to defend itself, but if this footage is genuine, it violates the Geneva Convention’s protections for prisoners of war. Humiliation or coercion of POWs is not acceptable under international law. Please consider removing this post.

I guess public curiosity is any exposure to the public. I read the original reasoning for this was to stop the parading of prisoners in the street & them being harassed/harmed by the locals. Most of these laws are outdated & need to be amended for the future; or ignored like putin's rabble does.
Russians are sending pictures and video of dead Ukr. soldiers in the field to their friends and family. But, heaven forbid you post a video of live, unharmed prisoners. And if you want to know how I know, it is because my daughter is a Ukr. soldier and I have seen firsthand what Russians do.

Being "stuck in the sixties" is better than being "stuck in the forties"- The Geneva Convention prohibits exposing POWs to videos like this. Whether or not it’s classified as a war crime, it’s still a violation of international humanitarian law. Proof of life shouldn’t come at the cost of dignity.
