I think i conflated his trauma in that scene (having to eat a bit) with Goodsirs death. Man I wish season 2 was also about that expedition lol.

I thought it had one really good possible take: "what if Lovecraftian (known racist & xenophobe) horror was really just "I dont understand different things than my culture" like eldritch horror is really something simple as an inuit woman having agency at all. terrifying to someone like lovecraft

so the polar bear can be a metaphor? lol TBH, I loved the supernatural elements they made it more than just a historical drama and since we dont know what happened to them, fun space to play in. leave the rest to history channel to capitalize on.
