What beef is that? North Carolina is so far out of South Carolina's league that this entire concept is laughable on its face to any north carolinian. we simply do not concern ourselves with backwater shitholes like SC... we are NC for fucks sake. Maybe when they learn to make a road .
I was always impressed with Charlotte until I actually visited last year, and the delineation between the haves and have-nots was shocking. When NC leaves people behind, they're left somewhere last century. We're screwed up in SC, but we're doing better than that.
I mean, I wasn't expecting to see DC, but I also wasn't expecting...whatever it was I saw around the rail station. I also live and travel across the border from rural NC, and nah, I'm good, thanks. The roads are nice, but the stories I hear about crime y'all can keep.
I grew up in NC but with family in SC and am very familiar with most of each state. Dont pretend like SC is any better than NC in how they treat their worse off. SC beats NC in poverty, as in has more of it ( a bad thing) but just barely. and NC consistently TRASHES SC in quality of life.
Oh, I give my own state liquid hell for what they won't fix and who they leave behind, but I'm not going to pretend NC isn't sweeping its own problems under a great big rug to prop up the things it does better than us.

Charlotte is like the south carolina of NC & not at all representative of NC. Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, or WNC(Pisgah, Asheville), or the Outer Banks are each on their own ten times cooler than everything in SC combined. The coolest place in SC is charleston, but because of slavery weirdly.
I spent half my life living in the Lowcountry, and IMO our coastline region from OBX to roughly St Augustine, FL is like a separate state. The best people! Not immune to problems, but I do miss the culture. ❤️
