ND games have a way of communicating how they wish to be played so that you don't turn amazing scripted sequences into messy disoriented gameplay. The way they hint at you to do stuff feels like you're adlibbing your part in a play. Most of the implicit cues are "Charge", "Preserve", "Hide", "Flee".

But for multiple reasons, it felt like the cue throughout TLOU2 was always "Become the Doom Slayer". It might have had something to do with the way the pandemic hit me xD I genuinely just discovered that parts of the game can be skipped without killing anyone.
