The main problem is how brains work, once you know that that's how he looks upclose you're aware of it even from far away when that's not relevant.
I mean, the diorama is meant to be looked at as a whole, I don't really mind that his face doesn't look like a Hot Toys figure, but still that might be a little too much cost-cutting, huh?
Every time I think of TPP, there's a little guy in my brain that says "heh, Toilet PaPer" which makes sense as it is at least chronologically, a game that takes place after PoOps

The short version is: I use Blender. Lighting is very important. Color correction might help. Reduced color depth, resolution, framerate and dithering help the PS1 look. Vertex lighting helps but I don't always use it.

Oh I played that one and loved it a lot actually. I have a soft spot for it. I picked it up again a year ago on PS3 and I'm somehow relieved that it wasn't just my PC back in the day that ran it like shit. It's mostly a mindless vibes, extremely comfort game to me even as repetitive as it was.

Or maybe like, stalagmites... Or candle flames? Or tiny flowers. Or bullet impacts on water! The potential is endless for the noble vertical billboard.
But for multiple reasons, it felt like the cue throughout TLOU2 was always "Become the Doom Slayer". It might have had something to do with the way the pandemic hit me xD I genuinely just discovered that parts of the game can be skipped without killing anyone.
ND games have a way of communicating how they wish to be played so that you don't turn amazing scripted sequences into messy disoriented gameplay. The way they hint at you to do stuff feels like you're adlibbing your part in a play. Most of the implicit cues are "Charge", "Preserve", "Hide", "Flee".
I realize that when I first played the game, I carried Ellie's vicious attitude through the whole game, even in the Abby sections because the game was paced in a way that didn't let my player expression cool down. So I kinda turned Abby into a monster through my way of controlling her.
I think one major divergence in TLOU2 is that stealth almost goes against the point, Ellie wishes for her rage to be noticed. Effective stealth takedowns send the message, but not as much as leaving decimated, sprayed, unrecognizable corpses in her wake.
Finally: Trees

Another fun category would be how fast people can *stop* modding Skyrim before opening it and playing it for 10 minutes. The willpower required to close the Nexus Mods page and launch full vanilla has not yet been observed but it is said to be on par with that of the toughest athletic champions.
