Reform / Con will happen. The only way to beat this is Lab / Lib / Green. Will Starmer go for it? I doubt it. I would love to see a Lib / Green opportunity.

In which case, Labour could settle the issue with a simple referendum which asks whether people "wish to rejoin the EU, rejoin on a simply economic basis, or continue outside the EU." It would be a far more informed choice now than it was 10 years ago.

Exactly. But this would be way out for them. At no point since 2016 has there been a debate on this issue where voters have had all the facts. Even last year, the two parties which could win a Parliamentary majority refused to discuss it.

Most Labour MP’s want to rejoin. It’s Stammer. The best way to force this is not vote for them. But there is risk in this alone.

The risk is huge. Not voting Labour would, almost certainly, bring in a right-wing party. And that would make the situation worst. The only other option is putting pressure on Labour backbenchers to change party policy.

That is a good point. However. Labour won’t win this time. They will need a coalition. So in many ways it’s a vote to ensure a voice about the EU. And if a vote for Labour is a vote for Stammers red lines, there’s no vote from me. Reform and Con are no match to Lab / Lib / Green…..
