Why can’t people see? That’s due to the money and sophistication used in the media. Their hegemony pummels people 24/7, day in / day out. Hail Nigel and Reform - a new force…….whereas, in reality, some of the poorest politicians from the last government are joining Reform.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Squandered a big majority, spent too long dithering over decisions….. Like Johnson, Starmer”s legacy will be one of wasting every opportunity for improvement and not getting the big items sorted.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s perhaps the biggest political beating you can get. So deserving.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Respite for the good people of Clacton. When cornered….. “I don’t have an opinion on it”…. Trouble wherever he goes.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Just something positive. Something looking at bigger issues. Just something with a nod to the future of this country. I think any party that promised not to mention asylum seekers and hotels would do very, very well…..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Being bold and being different might just be in-touch with the majority of people who don’t want Reform, Reform-Conservative or Reform-Labour. Rejoin, a Lib Dem / Green coalition?
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
We all deserve better than this. This constant pandering to a minority of far right bigots. Labour will go the same as the Conservatives. I know we need to vote tactically to keep Reform out, but I just wished for something more progressive. Something brand new.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
100% it’s a warped media view. Real life is nothing like what is currently reported.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I think this is great. It shows where Labour are really at. Rotten from the inside and rudderless at the top.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Rejoin. Rejoin. Rejoin. Then educate, educate, educate. Please no more myopic English.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I cannot conceive of someone ever actually paying this. I mean, really. What sort of head space must you be in to take advice from this idiot. And then pay for it. Perhaps one of the biggest unsolved mysteries of the universe.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I think they will be remembered for trying to swallow Brexit, before choking on it. Things won’t improve, it won’t go away. It won’t get better with time. Rejoin is the only way to reclaim growth and provide options for betterment. Labour are too busy chasing shadows.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I feel the need for a simple chart showing: Number of elected members. Number that didn’t last as long as Liz Truss. With a footnote “how is Reform going to make changes, when 45% of your elected members didn’t last as long as Liz Truss”.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
It won’t go away. All the time there are no benefits, there will be questions.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Nigel Farage urged to face reality that Brexit has failed…..that might be a more accurate account.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
100% Brexit has failed, perhaps even more that forecasted (operation yellowhammer). Brexit has had enough time. It’s clearly not going to improve anything. Time to start the process of rejoin.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s not going to get to the bottom. It’s going to keep heading in the wrong direction. This is due to the sheer lack of planing and political understanding. Rejoin is the only meaningful correction. But this requires honesty and leadership.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Grammar improvement; Reform’s shit. You don’t need to use any deeper analysis, we all understand precisely.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The scale of the loss is beyond comprehension. I feel for the younger generation, they have such a harder environment in which to achieve. Rejoin, it is the only sensible option. Eat humble pie and build a better future.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The summer of Farage riots. Awful.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Farage riots. Deport Farage.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Doesn’t look good, the constant spinning of this is unraveling…….. Not a time to back Trump.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Ultimately, we are already living a Thatcherite legacy; more of the same = more of the same. Can we do better, please..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Two major own goals: 1) Believing the majority of people really care about immigration. 2) Not pushing the big change (PR, EU referendum, taxing big business, ending Free Ports and SEZ……). Still in election mode and not governing. Too busy cosying-up to the right.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
100%. 5% GDP increase with a year or two.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Rejoin is very long grass. It will happen.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I think we do agree. The disaster capitalism has never been hidden. Lowering standards and increasing profit across the board. TBH, I just did not think the mass population would fall for it. I was wrong. No one hates Brexit more than I. It will be reversed, but this is a long term thing.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
We don’t disagree. I just can’t be bothered to nuance it. By any measure, and at depth of analysis, it’s just failed as a project.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Ultimately, if the food we now consume does not meet or exceed EU standards, then Brexit has failed.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
This is a bigger miss than that Stuart Pearce penalty. So wide of the mark…….
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Wonderful.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
“Brexit means Brexit.” So good they named it twice…… I always thought, one day, I’ll laugh about it. Perhaps today is the day! “Get Brexit done.” Let’s not forget “Oven ready Brexit”.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Many, many years of time and effort to come. What an utter waste it has been, it currently is, and, will be all the time we seek to rectify it. I wonder which was the most misguided statement: “easiest deal in history”, “we hold all the cards”, “no downsides”….
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Option 2: Labour have jumped down the populist rabbit hole and are totally lost. Green are on the rise with the young. LibDems are sounding sensible. Together they could offer an EU referendum, PR, and, re nationalisation of utilities.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
At this stage, with the level of drift from the change they promised at the election, I can’t ever see myself voting Labour. Just when you thought you were saved from 14 years of Tory rule……it’s like a time-loop. What a wasted opportunity.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Next week Starmer will be dressing like Farage….. “here’s me searching for migrant boats in Dover…..” When all you have to do is to say…. “Well Nigel, you were wrong about Brexit sorting immigration levels, so I don’t think this is a topic you are qualified to speak about”.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Amen to that.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
A Reform voter.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Labour have sailed too far in the wrong direction. You can’t out Reform Reform. The centre ground is not trying to be Reform lite. They are extreme right. If I were Starmer I would be taking to Lib Dem and Greens and forging a coalition on PR, the EU and better public services. 1 term Starmer……..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh, simplified alright. It’s not the thinking (you can forgive that as we all have limits). It’s the hate, it’s the judgements, it’s the lack of humanity.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
You can’t put GB News and knowledge in the same sentence !
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
When your depth of knowledge is gained from The Express, Facebook, and, friends in Wetherspoons, you expect this level of functioning. Why do you need facts and evidence (?) when you have an opinion which eclipses your grey matter.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
It shows that ‘playing Reform lite’ does not work. The Conservatives and Labour can’t seem to get out of this death spiral - like moths to a flame. I think launching a party called ‘Not Reform’ might fair better. Reject Trump, tax big corporations and Rejoin EU - a vote winner.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I am sure he will bully senior officers to find a process. It’s obvious he doesn’t want a fair society. And it’s most likely he has interests in big oil. For me, this issue is twofold: 1) Nigel thinks about himself and has no empathy. 2) Reform have no detailed policy. Crap politics…..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Constructive dismissal ?
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
After years of awful politics, we all deserve better. It’s the hope that kills. Labour should have pushed this from the get go.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Don’t forget, “we hold all the cards”…. I bet the US and the EU are loosing sleep waiting for us to choose. I so hope David Davis is allowed to close the deal. With the support and guidance of Lord Frost, there will only be ‘upsides’.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Trying to cherry-pick the EU is unwise. We need to be bold and unambiguous in our trade intentions with the EU. There is no US trade deal, there never was. One of the Brexit fantasies.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Starmer’s fence sitting between two potential partners may seem like he is choosing the partner he wants……weighing up his best option. However, they will both get cold feet and poor Starmer will be left all alone. Wasted opportunity. We will be dumped and then Trumped……
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Labours first move should have been proportional representation. Its second should have been a vote on rejoin. When are big parties going to learn that mimicking Reform leads to disaster?
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
This deal is like the world’s longest engagement. One in which neither party has the slightest intention of getting married.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
This would indeed be a positive. An anchor in a strange tide.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
You’re assuming: 1) He understands the concept. 2) He would ever accept it (even if he understood it). I think he won’t last. I think people can see he is just making it up (especially China!).
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social)
By trading directly with China, we can cut out the middleman. Bye, bye Amazon.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Starmer is behind the curve….. fence sitting is reckless in the current climate.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social)
I sincerely hope China now raise him: sorry Sir, you fold you’re out of the game. 200% minimum bet. Now you see how bad he actually is. Art of the deal my……..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
That is a good point. However. Labour won’t win this time. They will need a coalition. So in many ways it’s a vote to ensure a voice about the EU. And if a vote for Labour is a vote for Stammers red lines, there’s no vote from me. Reform and Con are no match to Lab / Lib / Green…..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Once bitten…. sounds bold. However, we were with Truss. Disaster capitalism can’t become a thing. What to do about get rich quick schemes and politicians. He has to go.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Most Labour MP’s want to rejoin. It’s Stammer. The best way to force this is not vote for them. But there is risk in this alone.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
I guess America can no longer be trusted with its checks and balances. One guy pulling the levers is not how finance works? This won’t become modus operandi - the world can’t work in this manner. Trump will not survive this.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Power corrupts - and you know the rest…….
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The point is that Labour won’t settle the issue.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The question of people wanting to rejoin voting Labour is settled……..
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Putin’s long planned war with the West is coming true. It started cold, now it’s not. It’s not really about money. It’s about control.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Reform / Con will happen. The only way to beat this is Lab / Lib / Green. Will Starmer go for it? I doubt it. I would love to see a Lib / Green opportunity.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Something to hide…… Russia has been busy, literally buying their way into the UK, then funding the Leave campaign. Brexit is Putin’s baby. As is MAGA. Once America moves its forces from Europe / NATO, we will find out just how long Putin has been preparing.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Labour are fearful of Reform. Rather than showing the distinction - that we all want to see - they are playing Reform lite. It won’t work for them, in much the same way it didn’t work for the Conservatives. Rejoin won’t happen under Starmer - he has to go, before we eat chlorinated chicken.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The trouble is that we have yet to return to our senses. We are still open to free market / Brexit nonsense and the things put in motion by the Conservatives. I can’t see Starmer changing his position. He’ll keep trying to be friends with both sides. Any deal with Trump will be a major mistake.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s the same rubbish politics. There never will be a US trade deal.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
After the last 14 years of poor politics, we need something bolder. Some big decisions about our future. Somehow Starmer has become continuity when we desperately need change.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Starmer has to go. There won’t be any improvement with the EU under his leadership. Appeasement of the USA and the EU can’t happen simultaneously, as trade with one will rule out trade with the other. We need a decision-maker, not a fence sitter. Starmer has to go.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The fog of war…… Starmer is lost as much as other world leaders - just they admit it and talk straight to their people. Disaster capitalism takes no prisoners. From hegemony to false class consciousness, we seem to be living the pages of Das Kapital.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
At some point, when they’re finished on the vulnerable, they will have to eat each other. Things can improve as quickly as they have gone south.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Won’t don’t even have a raft. Drifting aimlessly - rudderless, with a Captain who is trying to charm the sharks.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social)
Liz Truss must be feeling some sense of relief?
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Putin really has fxxxxx America.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
100% Brexit has failed. Rejoin would also support defence and security.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Wise. The world will move forward, while America doesn’t.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Canada will join the EU.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Two countries…… that just sums him up. Zero understanding of the EU.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Putin (a distinction from Russia) is pressing his intentions. He has America shackled. The EU is a more complicated animal. War will be a response to Putin’s overreach. The EU will be emboldened and strong. The fact it is needing to build defence capacity is a sign of peace, not warmongering.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Signed. 100% the right thing to do.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
100%
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Two pragmatic steps. Two smart decisions.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
You have to judge Streeting by his actions. History won’t be kind.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
With Mandelson not spinning his magic, a replacement in this role would signal intent. Personally, the pick would be Jess Philips, just imagine…. Practically, now that’s a question.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
He means well, bless him. How does someone this dense get to understand that they are a factor in Britain’s demise ? Asking for a friend.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
In the most, political parties fall about policy and subsequent decision-making. Reform can’t. They simply have nothing to fall out about. No real policy. Reform are just hot-air and a battle of the egos. Reform won’t last, whereas, Farage will.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Englands most noticeable arseholes being arseholes. As entertaining as it may be, it comes as little surprise. If only they had a policy to argue over, they might stop fighting each other.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Let’s just rejoin, and laugh the whole unfortunate misunderstanding off.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
By summer.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
The world will. Trump won’t.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
View from the UK: Zelensky stands up to Putin directly, so a Putin puppet makes no difference. Trump acted in the most un-American manner. It’s as if he doesn’t like the America of the last 80 years? America’s interests are not being well served by Trump.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s becoming apparent the role Brexit has played in helping Putin. Starmer is doing the right thing at the moment. He is being more proactive with European leaders. Let’s hope this brings perspective on our place in Europe. Rejoin.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
Some of the cards are now on the table. I expect Putin has more to lay. He has been planing all that is happening. It won’t stop at Brexit and Trump. We must be firm and take action. Putin needs to see two things: 1) Europe is stronger than Russia. 2) He has a date in The Hague.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
He is used to standing up to Putin. So standing up to his puppets is a formality.
James (@jamesawr.bsky.social) reply parent
If you can stand up to Putin, you can stand up to his puppets. The more they try to humiliate him, the stronger he grows.

Putin. Next to the video of Russia nuking San Francisco, he’ll have this on repeat. Trump’s just the messenger. And an ugly one at that. USA has gone. Lost. What an utter shame.

The Conservative Party, ‘friends of Russia’. Aaron Banks, Nigel Farage…… Putin has played a blinder.
