#Monarch update! While one caterpillar continues napping, another is going to go missing in the next day or two to start pupating itself. A third caterpillar appears to be a step or two behind its siblings and is shedding its skin now to enter either the 4th or 5th instar.

Monarch pupa. Nap time continues! 5th instar Monarch caterpillar. It will soon find a place to hang upside down in a J shape and shed its skin for the final time. Monarch caterpillar anchoring itself to a leaf to shed its skin. Monarch caterpillar just starting to shed its skin.

They're a little on the small side, but I think they're doing OK. I have a bit of a bumper crop this year though!
