Funny how nobody who claims this can name the scientist who started this "hoax." It's literally a 10 minute task and not one of these geniuses can do it.

It didn't. In the 1970s, the popular media was particularly bad about representing cranks as legitimate scientists, and so Newsweek wrote an article about "cooling" from two cranks. Now name the hoaxer.
