Hey now David, have you always, or specifically in the early 1990, been the person who hosted the Grateful Dead hour on the radio???

NB There are zillions of other radio shows out there, with various names, many of them going back to before KFOG started theirs.
Yes. It started as the KFOG Deadhead Hour in November 1984, and I joined the team in February of 1985. Some time in ’86, I think, I became the sole host of the show, and then other stations started asking if they could carry it, too. Jon McIntire took me to a band meeting and they said...
yes! The network grew of its own accord, pretty much. I did a year of commercial syndication, which is when it changed from the Deadhead Hour to the Grateful Dead Hour. It became independent, and started migrating toward public and community radio,
in the fall of 1989. Nearly 2000 episodes later, I'm still doing it!
Keep on Truckin!
Sure don’t know what I’m going for but I’m gonna go for it for sure!
That’s a long time you have been doing that radio show. That’s great. Back in the 90’s when my buddies were educating me on Grateful Dead music after my first concert experience, we would regularly meet in the Topanga Hills and listen to the Grateful Dead hour. We looked forward to it weekly and I
Sunday at 11(?) on 95.5 right?
Hahahahah. I’ve been trying to remember since yesterday and have failed at every attempt
It might have been midnight but I remember getting out of the Sunday show from the LA Sports Arena in 94 and GD Hour was on when we got in the car(but now it thinking it might have been Monday, ugh...)
Dig. I don’t remember going out to meet my friends at midnight in the hills to listen to a radio show. It had to be closer to 8?7? 6 PM? But I can’t remember for sure.
I think there was another LA Deadhead show, maybe on KPFK? Maybe that's what I'm thinking about
Yes, KPFK had a Grateful Dead show long before mine started.
learned that there was a whole lot to learn. We also met in the same spot for the Get The Led Out radio show. By chance, did you ever get to meet the guy who hosted that show?
No, I don't know that radio show nor the host of it.
It was Led Zeppelin music.
I figured!
