What kind of country do these people want? I live in a multicultural neighborhood in Brooklyn and I feel much happier seeing all the different types of people living together. I cannot understand not wanting that. I’m here because of immigration.

I'm in 2 minds. One, this is cruel and unusual punishment for asylum seekers who were let in and are now being kicked out. Two, I hold the view that if they didn't like the regime where they were, they were obligated to try and change it. Letting them into this country doesn't help save the world.

Here are two facts, we let them in under both federal and intl law that requires us to do so since the 1950's. They spend more in taxes into federal and state govt (about $60b/yr) which is more than it costs us to take them. Deporting them would literally lower US revenue to spend in a budget.

Illegal or not if they have applied means at least they have at least done something.They can be moved up in the vetting process so they can prove or not prove if they are in danger if sent back. Another approach may be to appoint more immigration judges. AI might help to expedite more quickly also.

For too long, the asylum process was too lenient. People were being granted asylum just because they wanted to seek a better life. Asylum claims aren’t meant to be because you’re poor and want to make a better life. That’s what the normal legal immigration process is for.
