I once had a Jewish coworker (with seniority) told he couldn't have the coveted Christmas vacation time off, because he didn't celebrate it, even though his kids had the exact same winter break as everyone else.

He did end up leaving, and I transferred to a different location. Hung onto the job, though, because that place had incredible health insurance, and my family needed it.
