Every year I try to water more methodically and every year I seem to fail. I grow a lot of decent tomatoes though, as does my pal who grossly overwaters his. He kills a lot of plants yet still has an awful lot of toms. His wife won't eat them though.
I definitely eat mine! Mostly, I stand in the greenhouse and eat them there - that's when they taste the best. Indeed, I have a grazing approach to my allotment, eating the fruits situ and the runner beans raw. Some flowers too. Some make it to the kitchen but straight from the plant is best.
