This is actually a huge part of how scamming cold sales works -- you want the customer to feel inadequate and bad before you offer them a remedy that will immediately fix the bad feeling for the low low price or their banking information

This also applies to ads for scam products so if you see an ad that makes you feel bad, inadequate or rotten, as a big part of the sales pitch, it's probably a product that does not work as promised.
