So I'm not going to speak directly about the latest drama in the booksphere, only that AI sucks. I hope lawsuits are won against AI companies stealing. I hope we can somehow change this screwed up timeline we're in.
Most authors f*cking hate AI because it's off our stolen work and is threatening our careers. So instead of baseless accusations, maybe tell retailers you want transparency. Because yes, one big retailer is collecting that data. They just choose not to display it.
I really wish readers would quit thinking they've discovered words or phrases that identify AI writing. AI is stolen from actual writers. I can usually spot stylistic consistencies, but otherwise, unless they left prompts, there's no checkoff list.

Film adaptation will always lean on "tried and true" or new authors with huge followings. Hollywood isn't big on taking risks. It's why I hope more filmmakers out there take risks on smaller authors who just have a great story.
They sequel, prequel, and redux everything, which is probably why I've always watched a lot of indie and foreign films. Dancer in the Dark (for example) was gut wrenching and like nothing I'd seen at that time. I love creative storytelling. Take me somewhere new

I envy writers who can write in loud coffee shops or while listening to music. I can't think the story or hear the characters without silence. But I also have tinnitus, so even when I have sound canceling headphones on to block external noise, my brain is still going eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

You'll never improve as a writer if you rely on AI to do the hard stuff. You have to practice like with any profession. If you suck at action scenes, write less. Or make them funny. Those pushing AI don't care about writing. And anyone encouring others to use AI, I question their motives.
Picture frames used to have images of family and couples. I got this not long ago. The way she is holding the food against her face, the vacant look in her eyes - I sometimes think we need to find this woman and make sure she's okay.

You don't need to be great at everything. I learned years ago to focus on what my readers love about my writing - what I'm good at - and not spend an inordinate amount of time trying to fix the stuff I'm not great at. And I may not be great at writing certain types of scenes, but I get through it.
