The best faith interpretation I can come up with is that in such a heavily registered Dem city like NYC, the Venn diagram overlap of the two electorates is actually much larger than other cities in the country, so broad trends can be drawn. But def a stretch!

Mamdani doesn’t have a good option for an apple-to-apples comparison on the Affordability question. He didn’t ask Trump voters after their NY Republican primary choice basis, since Trump already wrapped up the primary in 2024 by the time NY came along. New Yorkers‘ “cost of living” will be made worse—much, much worse—throughout Zohran’s term, and he’ll be able to do nothing to stop the majority of it. The only thing he’ll be known for, as long as Donald Trump is president, is what he did to fight AGAINST that. Not the wonderful policy he’s FOR.

Zohran is a generational political talent. Clearly he’s skilled at communication and campaigning. But he’s yet to show me he has the toughness it takes to lead not just New York, but be a leader for democracy, in its desperate defense, in these dark times. Hopefully he will, soon.

The press (present company excluded) are just reciting Islamophobia at him. I much prefer his direct videos. Less frustrating.

I've been saying for some time now Dems are sorely missing out on reaching constituents and new voters by not doing this more and not EDUCATING people that sorely need it. Tons of Americans have no idea this is *exactly* what authoritarianism IS, they've never come even close to experiencing it.

look at him showing charts and numbers directly to voters, talking for more than 10 seconds, and not treating them like sticky fingered children

Oh that felt good! Ppl are desperate to find someone new b/c the oligarchy of both parties have not made their lives better while the rich are mow filthy rich. The Ds have got to let go of those who have paid their dues, it's their turn. They also got paid by the donor class. David Hogg is right.
