Murder drives ratings not so much accidents. I guarantee that if he'd killed those people with a sword it would have got as many headlines. But guns help you kill people, there's a reason why armies don't use swords any more.

Well, there's still bayonets but that's just a backup or if someone is feeling particularly creative. But yeah, guns help you kill things. Good luck running down a deer and strangling it to death next time you're craving venison. Or getting a bear to stop attacking your family by bribing it.
