🙄
It is interesting to me that the problem being identified here with electability are these interest groups (who ok, may have out-of-touch perspectives) and not the way money influences politicking. Bringing up dialogue with Musk at the end makes me worry about the "lessons" Dems are learning.
They call me "those groups" and then think I'm going to vote for them. Lol. Why would I do that? There is a difference between the parties, but I'm not voting for someone who says "You and your vote don't matter to me." It's the Dem version of "I could shoot someone on 5th ave."
Me when all I care about is staying elected and getting donations:
Tester is a loser. Literally. He lost a crucial Senate race in November. Why would anyone listen to him?
He outperformed the top of the ticket. And that’s the exact point of his argument. The stances from some advocacy groups makes Democrats unelectable in red areas that he used to win.
The groups they should stop listening to are the focus groups put together by multimillion dollar out-of-touch consultation firms, made up of "independent" voters (or even non-voters) who have trouble deciding between parties even when one promises fascism. Fuck the focus groups. Have some morals.
To win dems need a big tent full of people that dont want to be in a big tent
love being "a group" or "a problem" and not, y'know, "a person" with "rights"
What’s the point of this article? It quoted my rep who I am actually mad at…

Sorry, Jon Tester. It's not that hard to defend the most vulnerable among us. And to make the case for how that reflects American values.
The 'rabbit hole' if "all people have rights"?
Wow what a dick
what a clown
"the groups" smh -- I first learned about this nomenclature from @katmabu.bsky.social a few months ago and seems like now I'm hearing it out of Dem and Dem-adjacent mouths everywhere the past few weeks.
Democrats learning to stop listening to their base will soon discover that they no longer have a base. They're not going to acquire new friends on the other side, so where do they think that leaves them? Did Tester not pay attention to what happened to Sinema?
lol actually "those groups" are the Democratic base, and they need to listen to them instead of the six figure consultants who's only advice is "move right, become Republican" and specialize in losing elections
fuck these fucking fucks, maybe they should listen to the actual party base instead of chasing bigoted white dudes
Hey you know what will make you actually "unelectable?" Living in a country without elections.
But no, everything that's happened in the past six months must be the trans kids' fault.
