Newsom is surging because he kind of got lucky: Trump put a target on Los Angeles's back and his response became a focal point. Then, because JB already gerrymandered Illinois maps in 2022, he can't do much else. Meanwhile, Newsom came in on the ground floor on redistricting against Texas.

CA is the first state being targeted from Day 1. So, Newsom gets his first move & he's a kinda person getting Trump under his skin. So far, Newsom's response is big enough to cover his RW shift attempt on Transgender in sports which I think no blue states should ever try.
Yeah, as I've said before, Newsom is Draymond Green or Dennis Rodman. There's no evidence (yet) that he's Michael, Scottie, Steph or Klay.

I’m supporting both Newsom and Pritzker and anyone else willing to stand up to the trump regime.
Pritzker helped and protected the Texas Democrats when they broke quorum and left the state. He may not be making the noise Newsom is, but anyone who doubts his willingness to fight isn't paying attention.
The problem is making noise trumps all else these days (no pun intended). Making noise is how you get attention, and attention is the currency of politics in the age of social media. It’s not enough to just fight. You have to fight *and* be an obnoxious prick about it.

I’ve said it before, I’m not in CA, can’t afford it, but he’s dealing with a right damn now problem & as a little blue dot in a red state, I appreciate the hell out of it. And the trump trolling is excellent, makes me laugh & is deeply satisfying.
You can afford California. Higher minimum wage, higher pay everywhere. Yes, the costs are higher, but it is basically a wash. And there's a much better social safety net here. And generally a higher standard of living. And less right-wing hate. All good...
I’m retired though. I’m not a big money spender, I spend more on my dog than myself - that’s my priority coz he’s my bud. But, I’d want to live near the beach & I think that’s pricey 😁. I have relatives there & I’ve been there twice decades ago. All my pics are the beaches 😉
