How has he condemned your community, specifically? I'm honestly trying to understand if you think, on balance, he'll be bad for trans rights or good overall. So, understanding what he did wrong is helpful to my education on this point.

Newsom went on Kirk's show to say the usual soft-spoken bigotries as the Right, on a show of and for the Right. There's more, but that's plenty.
I get the sports thing. But participation at every level of sports, say olympics, is not a clear cut issue in every case. There could be a fairness issue in some cases, which he's wrestling with. What else?
The issue has been about more than fairness from the start, with the Right suddenly developing an interest only when it regarded a group they were flogging for fear & hate. The fact that Newsom was willing to entertain Fascist talking points about my community is enough and I get to say it's enough.
But the fairness issue exists, & we don't know what Newsom will do regarding it. Maybe different based on level of competition? Here's a seemingly fair article that makes it seem like more research is needed. www.dw.com/en/do-trans-...
The Fairness Issue™ is something that wasn't an issue when sports bodies were handing it themselves backed by nonpartisan science. Anyone making the issue AN ISSUE is making their position on the humanity of my community for political self-benefit.
I agree the GOP is using the issue to divide & hate. But fairness (as an issue) has been addressed for over a decade at least. Here is a 2014 study: www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/abs/10.1... and the IOC studied it again from 2019 to 2021 www.olympics.com/ioc/human-ri...
